Myofascial Release

Aims to release the fascia and return it to a state of normalcy by applying gentle pressure to the restricted areas. MFR can help with a number of conditions, including chronic pain, headaches, and stress

Neuromuscular Therapy

NMT uses anatomically specific cross-fiber techniques, trigger point therapy and myofascial release to relieve chronic musculoskeletal pain and promote recovery in damaged tissues

Structural Integration and Sports Massage

This special form of massage is typically used before, during, and after athletic events to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used including classic Swedish strokes, cross-fiber friction, pressure-point work, and joint mobilization

Gua Sha

Oriental medical technique for removing blood stagnation from the surface tissues of the body. The “sha” of Gua Sha refers to the red, blue or purplish marks that come to the surface during a Gua Sha treatment. This is the stagnant blood that had been trapped in the tissues, but now has been released, allowing blood and qi to circulate more freely in those areas. The marks usually disappear within 2-3 days after the treatment

MediCupping

MediCupping™ therapy utilizes a machine with glass or plastic cups to create suction on the body surface. One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the “separation” that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue, which is invaluable in pre- and post-surgery treatments.

Thai Assisted Stretching

A 2,500-year-old Ayurvedic-based body science using assisted stretching and massage modalities to work on a client along with specific, assisted yoga poses. The underlying philosophy behind Thai yoga massage focuses on so-called energy points called “sen lines.” It is by working on these energy points that Thai yoga massage benefits the body

Foam Rolling & Recovery Training

Self-myofascial release is a fancy term for self-massage to release muscle tightness or trigger points. This method can be performed with a foam roller, lacrosse ball, Theracane, or your own hands. By applying pressure to specific points on your body you are able to aid in the recovery of muscles and assist in returning them to normal function. Normal function means your muscles are elastic, healthy, and ready to perform at a moment’s notice

Postural Integration & Assessment

Alignment of body segments should be observed while the person is standing still and during such movements as walking, to detect faulty patterns of muscle activity and joint mobility. The better the quality of movement and the better the alignment of gravitational forces through joint’s axes, the better is the sequence of motion. When postural alignment improves, imbalances are minimized

Tui Na

Suited for alleviating chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions and stress-related disorders that affect the digestive and/or respiratory systems

Yoga

Using my Yoga Alliance Certification, I create a personalized one on one yoga training.

Kinesiology Taping

The Kinesio taping method reduces the build up of fluids and decreases edema improving muscle function. Tape can generally be worn for 3-5 days helping with alignment, day of competitions, swelling, pain and more. Kinesio Taping is the original method from Dr. Kendo Kase since 1979

Pregnancy Massage

Nurturing the expectant mother throughout her pregnancy and into labor. Working sitting, side-lying, and/or face up relieving many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy. Such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, pelvic pain, headaches, and overall stress.

Burn Scar Therapy

As a burn survivor and burn unit therapist the benefits of massage therapy in burn scars is endless. Techniques used reduce inflammation, breakdown the collagen fibers, increase Range of motion, and provide a lightness to the effected areas. Massage uses techniques which try and realign the fibers, which can also provide increased elasticity.

Somatic Emotional & Energy Work

Co-create a personalized session letting you the client let go and release stored trauma and tension so that you may find balance. Somatic education is the study of the body through the personal experiential perspective.

“I've been seeing Crystal for over almost 2 years and she has become a huge component in my fitness, wellness and recovery routine. Her knowledge of anatomy and the body as a whole is incredible and I learn something valuable from her every time I finish a session with her. I've learned to recover smarter and overall I feel better thanks to the work Crystal does. She is highly recommended.”

Benefits

Clients typically experience immediate positive change even after just one session; reporting a sense of perspective and clarity. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as vital and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits.

Massage and bodywork can help maintain the body in generally better condition, prevent injuries and loss of mobility, cure and restore mobility to injured muscle tissue, boost performance and extend the overall life of your nervous system.

Structure and Function Are Interdependent. The musculoskeletal structure of the body affects function and function affects structure. Both can be adversely altered by stress or trauma. Massage therapy and bodywork can help restore healthy structure and function, thereby allowing better circulation, greater ease of movement, wider range of movement, more flexibility, and the release of chronic patterns of tension.

Perhaps the most basic principle in this field is that improved blood circulation is beneficial for virtually all health conditions. Tension in the muscles and other soft tissues can impair circulation, resulting in a deficient supply of nutrients and inadequate removal of wastes or toxins from the tissues of the body. This in turn can lead to illness, structural and functional problems, or slower healing. Recognition of the importance of blood circulation is implicit in all forms of massage and bodywork.

Observed Benefits Typically Include:

  • Substantial Decrease of Pain

  • Long-TermPostural Change

  • Improved Movement & Range of Motion

  • Improved Physical Performance
